Wallerawang Landfill to be out of action Tuesday

LITHGOW, Central West, NSW, Australia – The Wallerawang Landfill will temporarily close on Tuesday 9th October 2018 to allow waste compaction operations to take place.
The Lithgow City Council says the temporary closure is necessary to allow the safe use of large machinery to place, compact and cover the waste.
The Council, in a statement issued on Friday, said residents affected may use the Portland landfill on the day of the scheduled closure or the Lithgow solid waste facility to ensure minimal inconvenience.
The Wallerawang Landfill was last closed for waste compaction a month ago.
On that occasion the waste facility was out of action for two days on 6th and 7th September 2018.
