WASHINGTON D.C.: Some three out of four, or 75 percent, of all Americans above the age of 18 have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of Monday, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

President Joe Biden’s original plan was to administer at least one vaccine dose to 70 percent of American adults by 4th July.

The CDC said 180,762,301 people have received at least one vaccine dose, while 164,919,666 people, or 49.7 percent of the total population, are fully vaccinated.

By the start of the week, the U.S. had administered 346,924,345 doses of COVID-19 vaccines and distributed 400,674,965 doses, up from 346,456,669 doses given on 1st August, the CDC added.

The CDC tally includes the two-dose vaccines, Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech, and Johnson & Johnson’s one-dose vaccine.
