Two boys arrested after breaking into Central West home

a CENTRAL WEST, NSW, Australia – Two boys in the Central West of New South Wales have been charged with multiple offences after breaking into a home and burglarizing it – while the owners slept – and then stealing the houseowner’s vehicle.

One was aged 13, and the other fifteen.

They have since been caught and now face multiple break and enter and car theft charges, all having taken place in the state’s Orana region.

The latest episode began around 1:00am on Sunday when the pair allegedly forced their way into a house in Huntingdale Close, Dubbo, and stole a handbag containing a wallet and car keys.

The owners were home asleep at the time.

The boys then allegedly stole a vehicle located within the property, which was found abandoned around 15 hours later, at 4:00pm on Sunday in Highview Place, Dubbo.

Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District established crime scenes at the crash site and the home and commenced inquiries.

About 2:00pm last Wednesday, the 13-year-old boy was arrested and charged.

About 12:00pm Friday the 15-year-old boy was taken into custody and charged.

Both boys have been refused bail and will appear at Dubbo Children’s Court on Monday 10 February 2020.
