ELLISTON, South Australia: On the weekend, rescuers searched the waters off a remote beach in Elliston, South Australia, for a surfer believed to have been killed by a shark.
After reports of the attack, emergency services were called to the beach near the town, some 403 miles south of the state capital of Adelaide.
In a statement, local police official said, “A man is believed to have died following a shark attack at Walkers Rocks Beach.”
The 46-year-old surfer was the only person thought to have been attacked, they added.
