Red Bull air race pilot Matt Hall pays surprise visit to Bathurst

Jul 1, 2019

BATHURST, Central West, NSW, Australia – A cool winters day at Bathurst didn’t stop firefighters from the NSW RFS, NSW SES, ACT Parks and Conservation Service and ACT Rural Fire Service undertaking a series of skills-training exercises on Sunday.

Courses were held in aviation, radio operations, and air base operations.

These skills are used during incidents to direct and communicate with aircraft as well as to assist with refuelling and filling machines with extinguishing agents.

The aviation trainees had a surprise visit late Sunday afternoon by none other than Red Bull air race pilot Matt Hall when he popped in to Bathurst Airport to refuel.

Hall spent time talking to the trainees and took the time to be front-and-centre for a group photo.
