Mega Millions jackpot reaches $1.1 billion as no one matches numbers

Mar 27, 2024

ATLANTA, Georgia: After more than three months without a big winner, the Mega Millions jackpot reached some US$1.1 billion after no one matched the six numbers drawn last week.

The jackpot increased after a drawing for an estimated $977 million failed to produce a jackpot winner, continuing a string of 30 consecutive drawings without anyone taking home the top prize dating back to December 8.

The $1.1 billion prize is for those who choose to be paid through an annuity over 30 years, but those opting for a single cash payment will receive an estimated $525.8 million if they hit the jackpot at the next drawing on Tuesday night.

The $1.1 billion top prize would be the eighth largest in U.S. lottery history.
