Man being sought after Blue Mountains schoolgirl approached by man

SPRINGWOOD, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia – Blue Mountains Police on Thursday released the description of a man who approached a child in the Blue Mountains earlier this week.

There is concern about the report as it is the third such approach in the past three weeks.

Police say that a 13-year-old girl was walking through the car park of a shopping centre on White Cross Road at Winmalee, when ta man, passenger in a vehicle got out and approached her.

Police have been told the man offered the girl a lift.

The girl immediately declined and walked off, notifying staff at school later that morning.

Officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with brown hair and a greying beard. He was wearing a green hooded jacket, blue work pants with reflective bands, and boots.

The vehicle is described as a white Mitsubishi Express van, towing a trailer.
