Dec 23, 2021

MAGWAY, Myanmar – Members of a search and rescue team said they discovered the bodies of nine individuals, including two children, slain by regime forces last week in the village of Hnan Khar in Magway Region’s Gangaw Township.

The revelation came days after the military attacked the village with three helicopters on Friday. Until early Sunday, around 150 soldiers occupied the area.

“We found the bodies at the edge of the village.” On Monday, the search and rescue party leader, who did not want to be identified, spoke to the press.

According to him, just two of the dead were members of a local People’s Defense Force (PDF) battling the regime. The rest were villagers from the area.

According to the search and rescue team leader, who observed the raid on Friday, regime troops immediately began hunting down many persons after entering the area.
