Bathurst Panthers and Lithgow Workies win Group 10 finals

BATHURST, Central West, NSW, Australia – In the rugby league, Group 10 premier league minor semi-final, Bathurst Panthers shrugged off last year’s premiers the Mudgee Dragons 38-12 at Carrington Park on Saturday.

The Panthers scored first, 15 minutes into the game which put the writing on the wall for the Dragons, who trailed 22-0 at half time.

The Dragons mounted a come-back in the second half, but 3 tries in six minutes from the Panthers, put the result beyond doubt.

Jeremy Gordon, Jake Betts, Jack Siejka, Brent Seager, Kade Barrow, Jarrod Seager, and Doug Hewitt touched down fro the Bathurst Panthers, while Jye Barrow converted 5 tries.

Corin Smith, Ben Thompson picked up the Mudgee Dragons tries, while Jack Beasley and Sam Wooden did the conversions.

In the Group 10 first division, the Lithgow Workies were too strong for Bathurst Panthers in the major semi-final on Saturday at Carrington Park in Bathurst.

In a spirited game, the two sides drew 10-all at one stage and soon after the Panthers hit a 16-10 lead, however towards the end the visiting side took control.

Lithgow Workies 34, Bathurst Panthers 22.

The Workies as a result of the game progress now to the grand final.
