Speed limits on Great Western Highway in parts of Blue Mountains to change

Drivers travelling within, or through the Blue Mountains should take note that speed limits on the Great Western Highway between Hazelbrook and Wentworth Falls will change from Thursday 31 August 2017.
A 70 kilometres-an-hour limit will be in place from Lawson to Hazelbrook.
The existing 80km per hour speed limit at Wentworth Falls will be extended for 1km in the northbound direction.
And a new 40km per hour truck and bus speed limit will be implemented in Wentworth Falls for 820m on the Great Western Highway eastbound.
A Road and Maritime spokesman said the changes were being made following an analysis of crash history, road geometry, road environment and traffic volumes, to improve safety for all road users.
