Woman seriously injured when hit by car in Blue Mountains

SPRINGWOOD, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia – An 84-year old woman who was hit by a car in the Blue Mountains on Wednesday remains in serious condition in Liverpool Hospital.

The woman was struck by a car at about 7:45am Wednesday in Valley Heights, just near Springwood in the Lower Blue Mountains.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Green Parade and Tusculum Parade, Valley Heights.

Emergency service crews were quickly on the scene. They treated the woman with what were described as serious chest and arm injuries.

After treatment at the scene a CarefFlight helicopter airlifted the 82-year old woman to Liverpool Hospital

The 53-year-old driver of the car, a woman, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Blue Mountains Police have commenced an investigation into the incident and are calling for witnesses, particularly any with dashcam footage, to contact Crime Stoppers.
