September – Shauna Grimshaw

One of our Junior School Star Award winners for September is Shauna Grimshaw from Glen Alice Public School

Shauna Grimshaw is a Year 6 student at Glen Alice Public School. It was then that the school realised that she was a girl with a love of the outdoors and a passion for animals.

Shauna enthusiastically participates in the school’s cooking and gardening program.

Shauna is a great school leader and loves to teach the younger students how to garden and cook. She is a wiz in the kitchen and particularly enjoys cooking with the school’s fresh vegetables.

Most impressive of all though is Shauna’s ability with animals. At Glen Alice we call her “the chicken whisperer” because there is nothing about chicken husbandry that she can’t do. She is confident, competent and kind when handling the chooks and they respond by remaining calm when she is working with them.

With Shauna leading our chicken husbandry team, Glen Alice Public School has won many prizes at Sydney Royal Easter Show including Champion in the Schools Hyline Brown Competition.

The Glen Alice Public School is extremely proud of Shauna and will certainly miss her when she goes to high school next year.
