Search for Blue Mountains man called off after discovery of body

KATOOMBA, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia – A search for a 66-year old Blue Mountains man which was launched last Wednesday has ended after the man’s body was discovered in bushland on Tuesday.
The man went missing from his home in Katoomba, about 11.30am on Wednesday.
Officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command were notified and conducted an extensive search for him.
On Tuesday the body of a man was located in bushland near Cliff Drive, Katoomba.
While the body is yet to be formally identified, police believe it is that of the missing man.
Inquiries into the incident continue, however the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
Police have thank theed public and the media for their assistance.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
