MEXICO CITY, Mexico – A night club ambush in Mexico has claimed the lives of thirteen people.
Another 7 were injured when gunmen stormed the busy venue in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The attack took place in Guanajuato state.
According to local media reports, at the crack of dawn Saturday, a number of armed men arrived at the La Playa Men’s Club in the city of Salamanca in 3 vans. They stormed the bar and opened fire.
After the assailants fled the scene, the venue became a hive of activity with police vehicles and ambulances arriving en-masse.
Police say that have no clues at this stage as to who carried out the attack, or what their motivation was.
Salamanca is a hot-bed of activity for oil-thieving gangs.
