Protests have rocked many cities around the globe in the past week or so with thousands marching on issues ranging from tax in France, fuel prices in Burkina Faso and climate change in Australia to political opposition in Zimbabwe and Togo.

General strike in Burkina Faso over fuel prices hike
Several thousand people took the streets of Burkina Faso’s capital Ouagadougou on Thursday as workers downed tools in a nationwide strike over higher fuel prices.
