Woman killed after Hilux utility crashes in Central West

CENTRAL WEST, NSW, Australia – A woman has been killed in a single-vehicle crash in the New South Wales Central West on Tuesday.

It is understood the Hilux utility the woman was driving left the road and struck a tree, before overturning.

The crash occurred around 11:35am Tuesday morning about seven kilometres north of Orange.

Emergency services were alerted after a motorist came across the crash scene on Ophir Road. On arrival, the Rural Fire Service located the woman trapped inside the utility.

Officers from the Central West Police District attended the scene and were assisted by NSW Ambulance and Toll Helicopter, as well as Fire and Rescue NSW.

The woman was unable to be revived and died at the scene. She is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene was established and specialist forensic officers examined the scene.

Police say an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced and anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
