Jun 18, 2020

CENTRAL WEST, NSW, Australia – Two police officers who attended a domestic disturbance incident in the Central West in the early hours of Thursday morning, were assaulted.

Ironically, when the officers on arrival at the home in Dubbo ran to assist a woman who was struggling with a man outside the house, the woman turned on the officers and punched them both in the head.

Just prior to that the man involved in the incident just after the officers intervened, broke free of the officers, before threatening and then punching a leading senior constable in the head

The saga began just after midnight on Thursday morning when officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were called to the home following reports of a domestic altercation.

Following the assaults the man was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station.

During a search of the neighbourhood, the woman who had fled the scene, was found hiding in a nearby yard.

It’s alleged she jumped a fence to escape arrest, before striking an officer on the hand with a large tool.

She was subdued with OC spray before being arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station.

The man and the woman, both aged 22, were charged with a string of offences.

The man appeared before Dubbo Local Court later on Thursday.

The woman was given conditional bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 26 August 2020.
