SPRINGWOOD, Blue Mountains, NSW, Austrtalia – Nepean Hospital at the base of the Blue Mountains has seen another shooting.
The hospital, which services patients from the Blue Mountains as well as from Western Sydney, went into lockdown, and was surrounded by police.
An emergency call from the hospital was received about 4:00pm Thursday.
It is believed a patient wielding a knife has been shot by police. He has suffered stomach wounds.
The Nepean Hospital emergency department has been temporarily closed. Ambulances are being diverted to other hospitals and ED patients are asked to attend other hospitals – at either Blacktown, Liverpool, Hawkesbury or Mt Druitt.
