Rotary brings back Blayney Farmers Market

Sep 13, 2018

The monthly Blayney Farmers’ Market returns to Carrington Park Blayney this Sunday 16 September 2018 from 9am-1pm.

Now with new local hosts, the Rotary Club of Blayney has volunteered to continue to deliver the event every third Sunday of the month on behalf of the community.

“The Blayney Farmers’ Market has grown into an event which attracts widespread interest from locals and visitors alike from across Blayney and Villages and from across the region,” Blayney Shire Mayor Scott Ferguson said Thursday.

“People enjoy the friendly community feel that it offers and a chance to socialise and connect with others in the community,” he added.

The market supports local businesses and farmers by offering local and home grown produce, preserves, jams, honey and other products and services to encourage growth of the local economy.

“Everyone is invited to come along to see what we have on offer this Sunday for the return of the Blayney Famers’ Market,” Blayney Rotary representative Miles Hedge said Thursday.  “There will be some of your old favourite stalls and plenty of new stalls including Jed and Ginger, Dapper Chocolates, Franklin Road Preserves, Nellie Ryans, Bell River Estate, Honeysuckle Farms, Whispers from the Woods, Pitt & George, Floral Touch and more.”

“The children’s art and craft corner will be back, as well as face painting, entertainment for the whole family in a relaxed, tranquil setting in the heart of Blayney,” said Mr Hedge.

“The Rotary Club of Blayney recognises that many of our local farmers are in drought and the usual abundance of fresh local produce in our region is scarce, however we encourage the community to come out and enjoy what promises to be a bustling market and wonderful community morning as we continue to support local businesses and farmers by shopping locally,” he said. The Rotary Club of Blayney will also be supporting local farmers with a gold coin donation on the gate for Rural Aid.
