MUDGEE, NSW, Australia – Police Officers from the Mudgee Local Area Command are investigating the shooting of a man in the Central West on Sunday morning.
Police say six friends were hunting in remote bushland off Black Stump Way at Coolah on Sunday around 10am when a 24 year old man was shot in the backside.
Preliminary investigations, police say, indicate the shooting was an accident.
The injured man was air-lifted to John Hunter Hospital. His condition is described as serious but non-life threatening.
A 44-year old man in the group has had his guns and his gun license seized by police. The man was taken in for questioning but was not detained.
