LITHGOW, Central West, NSW, Australia – Lithgow’s mayor and councillors congregated in Wallerawang on Tuesday to meet with Local Member Paul Toole.

The meeting was called to allow the Lithgow Council to express its thanks to Mr Toole and the New South Wales government for a contribution of $400,000 towards the development of skate parks at Wallerawang and Portland.

“Councillors Maree Statham, Darryl Goodwin, Deanna Goodsell and Steve Ring joined with Mayor Ray Thompson and other community members in thanking Paul Toole for his efforts, noting the importance of the projects to the communities of both Wallerawang and Portland,” a statement by the Lithgow City Council released on Wednesday said.

The local council will also be contributing $100,000 to each of the two proposed parks.

“The pressure is already on from our young skating enthusiasts here today who have already bailed up Council’s General Manager wanting to know how long the skate parks will take to build ….and we will be doing our best to move as quickly as we can,” Lithgow Mayor Ray Thompson said.
