Man on bicycle collides with truck on M7 in Blacktown

BLACKTOWN, Greater Western Sydney, NSW, Australia – A cyclist is in critical condition in Westmead Hospital after colliding with a truck in western Sydney on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to the M7, Eastern Creek, 35 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD, following reports a bicycle and a truck had crashed around 6:30am Saturday.

Police say the cyclist and the truck were both travelling south when they collided on the Western Motorway off-ramp.

The cyclist, a 41-year-old man from Toongabbie, was taken to Westmead Hospital in critical condition.

The truck driver was uninjured. He was also taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Anyone with information, including dash-cam footage, is urged to contact New South Wales police.
