Man found with offensive weapons and stolen bikes fronts Lithgow Court

LITHGOW, Central West, NSW, Australia – A 27-year old man who was arrested in Lithgow on Tuesday after being found in possession of a huge range of illegal weapons, and several stolen motorcycles, trail bikes and mountain bikes, appeared in the Lithgow Local Court on Wednesday.

The man was arrested following the exercising of a search warrant at a house on Beynon Street, Lithgow early Tuesday afternoon,

The search was carried out by officers attached to Chifley Police District’s Region Enforcement Squad, Chifley’s Target Action Group and Criminal Group’s Strike Force Raptor.

Police allegedly located and seized three motorcycles, four trail bikes and three mountain bikes – all believed to be stolen – a home-made electronic stun device, ammunition, a loaded 9mm pistol magazine, a shortened rifle, extendable baton, knuckledusters, a zombie knife, slingshots and multiple knives and machetes during their search.

The man was arrested at the scene and taken to Lithgow Police Station.

He was refused bail ahead of his appearance before Lithgow Local Court on Wednesday.
