Man, 72, rescued from wedged rocks in Blue Mountains

SPRINGWOOD, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia – An elderly man is recovering in hospital after undergoing a fall at Springwood, in the Blue Mountains, earlier this week.
The man, 72, whose name has not been released, became wedged in rocks after suffering a fall in a rear terraced garden in Springwood.
The incident occurred around 3:30pm on Tuesday afternoon.
NSW Ambulance and Police units from the Blue Mountains were quickly on the scene.
Rescuers had to work overtime to free the man from the rocks where he had become trapped.
He suffered multiple injuries.
The man was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital by helicopter.
