Lithgow side clinches victory in penalty shoot-out

Aug 28, 2017

The Central West men’s hockey grand final saw the Lithgow Panthers take the honours over Bathurst Souths. It wasn’t all their own way though, the sides were neck-and-neck right down to the finish.

At full time the score was 3-all.

Two golden goal rounds followed but they brought no result.

Then in a penalty shoot-out the Panthers nailed the premiership with a 3-1 result.

In the shoot-out, Matt Johnson scored for Souths while the Panthers points came from Brandon Horner, Taylor Dolbel and Nic Milne.

For the Lithgow Panthers it was their 16th grand final appearance in 18 years and their 11th premiership.
