Lithgow gets support for ‘Growing Old in a New Age’

LITHGOW, Central West, NSW, Australia – Seniors across the Lithgow district will benefit from a grant from the New South Wales government.

Bathurst MP Paul Toole on Wednesday advised the Lithgow City Council it been successful in its application for a 2019 NSW Seniors Festival grant.

Toole said the money will be used to stage the “Growing Old in a New Age – Seniors Poetry Slam and Art Show.”

“This year, the NSW Government is providing $200,000 in grants to local organisations to deliver festival events and activities that provide opportunities for people over 60 to remain active, healthy, engaged and contributing to their local communities,” the Bathurst MP said.

“The ‘Growing Old in a New Age – Seniors Poetry Slam and Art Show’ is a great opportunity to celebrate seniors living in our community and personally thank older people for the contribution they make, and I commend this fantastic initiative,” he said.
