Sep 19, 2018

Environmental works at the Hassan’s Walls Reserve have received a boost with an additional funds injection.

$30,000 has been received by the Lithgow City Council through the Public Reserves Management Fund Program to aid in environmental works at the historic site.

It is the fifth year in a row that the Council has received financial support from the program.

The funding will enable the Council to continue important environmental improvements, and continue to aid on-going maintenance and rehabilitation works in Hassan’s Walls Reserve, the Council said in a statement.

“The grant funding fosters the enhancement of biodiversity, reduces erosion, improves habitat value and controls noxious weeds within the reserve. Funding will allow this work to continue encouraging community participation through activities such community planting days,” the Lithgow City Council statement said.
