Firefighters and police in Blue Mountains train together

Nov 8, 2018

SPRINGWOOD, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia – Emergency services from the Blue Mountains came together on Wednesday this week for a joint training program.

Taking part were members of Blue Mountains Police Rescue and firefighters from the Fire and Rescue NSW station at Springwood.

The training program concentrated on dealing with road traffic crash rescues, breathing apparatus, and rescues from confined spaces.

The aim of the program was to assist parties and individuals that come together in rescue operations, to familiarise themselves with each others’ equipment, resources, and approach to rescues.

The program was also seen to be strengthening the working relationship between the two primary rescue services that cover the same territory.
