Crashes on Great Western Highway bring traffic to standstill

Mar 9, 2019

SPRINGWOOD, Blue Mountains NSW, Australia – Two crashes on the Great Western Highway in the Blue Mountains disrupted traffic on Friday.

A serious crash on the Great Western Highway at Linden resulted in two people being trapped.

The highway was closed in both directions and traffic was completely stopped for around one-and-a-half hours.

Around two o’clock the two trapped occupants were released and transported to hospital. The highway was re-opened in both directions, although it took some time for traffic to clear.

Then late Friday afternoon a minor crash at Blaxland closed one east-bound lane of Great Western Highway and caused congestion in both directions.
