Crash involving 4 teenagers in Central West under investigation

COWRA, Central West, NSW, Australia – The horrific single-vehicle crash in the state’s Central West on Sunday afternoon that left one teenager dead, and three others airlifted to two Sydney hospitals, is now under investigation.

Emergency services were called to Darbys Falls Road, near Porters Mount Road, Cowra just after 3 o’clock on Sunday afternoon.

A Holden sedan, with four occupants, was travelling west bound when the vehicle left the road, crashed into a tree and rolled.

Police, NSW Ambulance paramedics, Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Police Rescue and NSW Rural Fire Service attended the crash site.

One of the passengers, a 17-year-old boy died at the scene.

The driver, an 18-year old youth, and a passenger, a 17-year old girl, were taken by road ambulance before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in North Sydney.

Another passenger, a 19-year old youth was transported by ambulance before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital.

The Crash Investigation Unit was on site later Sunday to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
