A 63-year old doctor practising in the Central West of New South Wales was arrested this week, and now faces a charge of aggravated sexual assault against a 34-year old woman patient.

The alleged offence took place during a consultation at a medical centre in Parkes, 99 kilometres west of Orange (154 kilometres west of Bathurst), last month.

The doctor was interviewed at Parkes Police Station on Wednesday, at which time he was formally arrested.

He has been granted strict conditional bail, and has been ordered to appear at Parkes Local Court on Friday 5 October 2018.
