California desert town struck by 150 earthquake swarm, no injuries

LOS ANGELES, California: Southern California was struck by over 150 earthquakes, called a swarm, on Saturday.

The largest of these earthquakes registered a magnitude of 5.3.

The earthquakes largely struck near the town of Calipatria, population 7,710, near the Arizona border.

There were no reports of injuries or property damage.

The swarm of earthquakes continued throughout the afternoon.

Experts note that swarms of earthquakes are not unusual in the area of Calipatria.
