Blue Mountains man hospitalised after being stabbed early on Saturday

SPRINGWOOD, Blue Mountains – A 28-year old man is being treated at the Nepean Hospital after being stabbed during a brawl in the Blue Mountains in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to a service station on the Great Western Highway near Oatlands Road, at Hazelbrook in the Blue Mountains, shortly after 12:15am Saturday.

Officers from the Blue Mountains Police Area Command said Saturday they were first on the scene and found a 28-year-old man from Hazelbrook with a stab wound to his abdomen.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Nepean Hospital.

Police have called on anyone who may have witnessed the fight and/or the stabbing, or who have information on the incident to contact their local police station.
