Bikie gang property in Central West raided, cannon seized

DUBBO, Central West, NSW, Australia – As part of a full-scale investigation into a bikie gang, a search was carried out by police on a property near Dubbo on Friday, during which a cannon was seized.

Police from the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor are working with the Orana Police District to proactively target Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) members and their associates.

On Thursday 2 March 2017,  an FPO was served on a 64-year-old man at a rural property on Minore Road, Minore, at which time officers located and seized 24 firearms.

A 64-year-old man was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with a total of 61 offences and remains before the courts.

Following further information investigators on Friday raided a rural property on Eulalie Lane, Walmer near Dubbo.

Police located a cannon in nearby bushland hidden by vegetation.

The cannon was seized by police and investigations are continuing.

Strike Force Raptor was established by State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad in 2009. It is a proactive and high-impact operation targeting outlaw motorcycle gangs and any associated criminal enterprises.
