Barton Avenue in Wallerawang to be asphalt resealed

Dec 11, 2018

LITHGOW, Central West, NSW, Australia – A major road in Wallerawang will be asphalt resealed this month.

Work is set to commence on the asphalt reseal of Barton Avenue, Wallerawang as part of Lithgow City Council’s 2018/19 capital works program.

A number of roads have been identified as requiring remedial work.

The work on Barton Avenue involves the resealing of more than 500 lineal meters of the road outside the entrance to Lake Wallace, and adjacent to the intersection of James Parade.

This road requires immediate restoration for safety reasons. Contract asphalt teams and machinery will be on site to complete the work, weather permitting.

Works will include the removal of the existing seal and reseal of the affected areas. Improvements including increased consistency of shoulder width, and improved drivability are also requirements of the job.

The project is 50% co-funded by the NSW Government through the Roads and Maritime Services Regional Roads REPAIR program, with the remaining 50% being funded by Lithgow City Council.
