Sep 21, 2018

The annual Chemical CleanOut for residents in Lithgow will occur in just over two weeks time.

The Cleanout is an opportunity for local householders to rid themselves of surplus wastes, including dysfunctional fluorescent lights, smoke detectors, paint, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, batteries and oils.

The household chemical cleanout conducted by Lithgow City Council in conjunction with NSW EPA and NetWaste allows residents to clean out chemicals from their home and dispose of  them in an environmentally friendly way.

Council provides the service once a year and this year it will take place Sunday 7th October 2018.

The Lithgow Council Works Depot, in Mort Street Lithgow will take chemical goods from the public from 8am to 4pm.

The following items will be accepted:

From local homes: Solvents & household cleaners, floor care products, ammonia based cleaners, fluorescent globes & tubes.

From cars: Batteries, motor oils & fluids.

From the garage: Paint, pesticides, herbicides, poisons, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, pool chemicals, acids & alkalis.
