47-year old man injured at Hassan’s Wall airlifted to Sydney

LITHGOW, Central West, NSW, Australia – A man injured in Lithgow after he fell off his bicycle has been airlifted to Westmead Hospital in Western Sydney.

The man, 47, was cycling near Hssan’s Wall Lookout near Lithgow on Monday afternoon, when he lost control of his bike.

He sustained chest injuries and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance medics before being taken by ambulance to Lithgow Hospital.

The decision was then made to transfer the man to Sydney by helicopter, at which time Careflight was summoned.

CareFlight’s critical care doctor and paramedic were on board the helicopter when it landed at Lithgow Hospital. They continued to treat the man during the flight to Westmead Hospital, where he is reportedly in stable condition.
