2 men being hunted by Central West police now in custody

ORANGE, Central West, NSW, Australia – Two men being hunted in the Central West, the subject of a recent public appeal, are now in custody.

Police in the state’s central west have arrested the two men.

The drama began on Wednesday 24 April when police made a public appeal for assistance in their hunt for two men – aged 28 and 35.

The 28-year-old man was arrested at a home on Quinlan Run, Orange, on Friday.

He was taken to Orange Police Station where he was charged with firing a gun with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He was also arrested on 3 warrants for prior offences. He faced Orange Local Court, where he was refused bail to re-appear on Monday 1 July 2019.

On Monday 15 April 2019, officers attached to Central West Police District attended a home on Lucas Street, Orange, in relation to domestic violence related matters,.

The offficers served a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) on a 35-year-old man believed to be inside, searching the property and a vehicle.

The FPO search was suspended, and a search warrant was executed, during which police seized guns, cash, an illicit substance believed to be methylamphetamine, electronics, and items of interest.

The 35-year-old man was unable to be located during the search.

Following further inquiries, the 35-year-old man was arrested at a hotel on Lords Place, Orange, about 10pm on Monday. He was taken to Orange Police Station and charged on two warrants issued for 14 offences relating to firearms, larceny, break, enter and steal, goods in custody, and deal with the proceeds of crime. He faced Orange Local Court where he was refused bail to reappear on Monday 17 June 2019.
