14-year old student injured in Blue Mountains on track to recovery

KATOOMBA, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia – The student from an inner city private school who fell during an activity excursion in the Blue Mountains on Wednesday morning and was injured, is now recovering at the Blue Mountains District Hospital.

The 14-year schoolboy was on an approved outdoor activity when he fell while negotiating a track.

He suffered hip and neck injuries.

An ambulance was called however paramedics decided specialist rescue assistance was needed.

The Police Rescue & Ambulance Special Operations Team (SOT) was called in to do the extraction.

The boy was taken to Blue Mountains District Hospital for treatment.
